Welcome to ShortCuts Lawn Mowing. These terms describe the basic agreement between you ("the customer") and us ("ShortCuts," "we," "our") when you book a lawn-care service through this website. By submitting a booking, you agree to these terms.
ShortCuts Lawn Mowing is a small, family-operated lawn-care business serving Plainfield, Illinois and surrounding neighborhoods. Services are performed by Ethan, a 13-year-old lawn-care operator, with parental oversight from Ray Kemph. Established 2026.
We offer three services at the prices listed on our home page:
Prices are flat-rate for typical residential yards in our service area. We may decline or adjust pricing for unusually large yards, severely overgrown grass, or yards with hazards (debris, pet waste, holes, etc.). If we need to discuss pricing, we'll contact you before performing the service.
You may request a service date through the booking form on our home page. A submitted booking is a request, not a guaranteed reservation. We will confirm your scheduled date by email or by calling the number you provide. If a date is unavailable (we're booked or off that day), we'll reach out to find an alternative.
Two payment options:
For card payments, your card is charged at the time of booking. If we are unable to perform the service for any reason (weather, scheduling conflict, etc.), we will issue a refund through Stripe.
If conditions on the day of service make safe mowing impossible (heavy rain, lightning, frozen ground, etc.), we will reschedule for the next available day. We will contact you to confirm the new date.
You may cancel a booking at any time before the service date by replying to your booking confirmation email. Card payments will be refunded in full if you cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled service. Cancellations within 24 hours may be refunded on a case-by-case basis.
We take pride in our work. If you're not satisfied with the cut for any reason, let us know within 48 hours of the service and we'll come back and make it right at no additional cost. Repeat customers and good neighbors are how a small business like ours grows.

ShortCuts Lawn Mowing performs services with reasonable care. We are not responsible for damage caused by hidden objects in the lawn (sprinkler heads, rocks, toys, pet waste, lawn ornaments, etc.) that were not disclosed and were not visible at the time of service. Please clear loose items from your yard before your scheduled date. Our maximum liability for any service-related issue is limited to the price paid for that service.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute will first be addressed by good-faith conversation between us — we're a small neighborhood business and we'd much rather work things out directly.
If we update these terms, we'll change the effective date at the top. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
